I bought some Christmas cards the other day and found that the envelopes had no glue on them. At first I thought it was because they were cheap but they weren't especially. Then I wondered if it was because cards in India are sent unsealed (there used to be a special rate for sending things unsealed in the UK)... but no, there isn't such a rate. Envelopes in India simply don't have glue on them! Why on earth not? Something to do with the humidity perhaps?
Then I bought some stamps today and guess what? They didn't have glue either! No Indian stamps have glue, they said, but there was a pot of it on the counter for me to use. I suppose I should have known...
Just something else which makes India amazing!
